So far, I have really enjoyed my last day. After class I went to the beach for a little bit but the weather today is quite cold and windy so I didn't stay for very long. Later on we had a paella at the school with the teachers and the students - it was huge!! It must be the nicest paella I have ever had as well, need to get the recipe! Just getting ready now to head into the centre to meet up with the others one last time!! Flight home in the morning, will miss everyone!

Well, I only have one more day of classes left now, I fly home on Friday morning. I have learned a lot in the classes and they have gone by very quickly. I have a book and many worksheets to take home with me to keep studying, so that is very helpful.

Now I am about to go for some lunch in one of the restaurants at the beach as after lunch we are going on a trip to Plaza del Torros (bullfighting ring). The bullfights are not something I really agree with but I think the tour will be interesting as we get to talk to an actual matador who is now retired. We also are able to go into the museum where we can view things like the costumes that are worn traditionally in the bullfight. When we arrive back at the centre we are all going for tapas again at Cien Montaditos which will be fun! Just trying to make the most of my last couple of days as I will really miss the group!

¡Hasta Luego!

Hola!

This weekend has been such an exciting and busy weekend! On Saturday we managed to do a day trip to Tangier in Morocco which was a brilliant experience. I have never been to Africa before so I am glad I was able to do this trip. We did a walking tour of the town around all the narrow Arabian style streets and then stopped for a traditional Moroccan lunch. The restaurant was so beautiful with intricate tilled walls and there was a live band playing Moroccan music with a dancer. Afterwards, we were taken to a few different shops where we could buy souvenirs and other bits and bobs. We also went to a pharmacy which sold Moroccan herbs and other things like Moroccan oil. The owners of the shops here are quite pushy so you really have to stand your ground and we were told to stay with the group and watch our bags.We also went to see some caves and to view points along the coast to see all of the gorgeous beaches before returning to the ferry home.

On Sunday, we went to visit Granada which was such a lovely city. I think this is one of my favourite places now, I really enjoyed the day here and wish we could have had more time here! We walked up to Alhambra but unfortunately we did not have tickets to go inside - the ground around it were nice despite this and we took a lot of pictures with the striking views.

After Alhambra, we looked around the shops, this again is very Arabic and there are many narrow winding streets. We all bought souvenirs as there were many nice shops here. The streets and buildings in Granada are so beautiful - I took a lot of pictures this day! Later on we stopped for tapas before getting the bus home.

Today we were back at school, we were quite tired but nonetheless enjoyed it. After class we went to the beach and managed to catch a bit of sun before the clouds rolled in. I can't believe it but the forecast for this week is not good!

Fingers crossed for some sunshine!!

Thursday 9 May 2013

Today is one of the hottest days that we have had, everyone is heading off to the beach to work on their tans!! I have just finished my classes for the day - we have a mix of grammar classes and conversation classes so it keeps it quite interesting. The people in my class are all so nice and from a lot of different countries so I really enjoy the conversation classes.

Yesterday after class we went on an excursion to the Alcazaba of Malaga. I managed to get a lot of pictures from the top with views spanning over Malaga centre and the port. Afterwards, our group went to a famous bar "el pimpi" for vino dulce which Malaga is well known for. I have never tried the sweet wine but I liked it and you drink it out of small glasses - sort of like a shot glass but not that quickly! Later on, we went to 100 Mundalitos which is a tapas bar right in the port. . On Wednesdays and Sundays the they sell tapas for just 1 euro!! I also tried vinto de verano for the first time and agree with the Spanish - it is very refreshing! It was fun to do this as a group and get to know the others more, I had a really nice time

Today we have a trip to see some caves which I am looking forward to. We meet in the centre of Malaga again which is about a 30 minute walk from our apartment. It is such a nice walk along the seafront.

The town that we are staying in is just out of the centre and it is lovely. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. There are restaurants on the beach serving all different types of food and quite a few bars for drinks and snacks as well. There are many heladerĂas that everyone raves about so I am looking forward to trying some ice-cream soon! Tomorrow I am planning on going to the beach after class as we are doing excursions over the weekend so I won´t be going then.

Well, I am off to the shop now to buy a massive bottle of water and lug it back to the apartment, wish me luck!

Tuesday 7 May 2013

Hello!

I have only managed to get on the computer today as I have no Wifi at home. So far it has been an exciting trip! The town where we are staying is quite small and very pretty. Our apartment is right across the road from the beach so we have lovely views!

Got off to a bit off to a bit of a bumpy start trying to find the apartment and the school (we were not given very much info!). Today is the second day of classes and I am really enjoying them! The students are nice and from a lot of different places so it is interesting. Today for one of our classes we were taken to a market where they were selling fresh fruit, veg, and fish. It all looked very nice but unfortunately we stay quite far away so it would be too far to carry shopping.

Yesterday we ventured into the centre of Malaga for dinner and a look around. We had Sangria and Paella so was a very Spanish meal! The Spanish people here are so friendly and always want to help if you have any questions for them.

The weather is warm but not too hot, it is just right! Got up a bit earlier this morning to go for a jog as it is nice and cool in the morning and you can run right by the beach.

Going to wander to the shop now for some food for the apartment. Meeting up later with some girls I just met to go into Malaga and try some Churros!!

That´s all for now!
